The Palace on Waves, the luxury houseboat offers you an incredibly different experience in Alappuzha backwaters. A capacity 150 people with a moving Conference Palace, the only one of this kind in Kerala, aptly named "Palace on Waves" was inaugurated last year on December 27th.

This two-decked houseboat is designed in such a manner that the spacious conference hall is located in the top deck of the boat. The hall is 80-foot long and 14-foot wide. The conference hall has the enormous capacity to accommodate about 150 people. In addition, director board meetings, birthday parties etc; can also be conducted in the hall. The conference hall is well-equipped with all the facilities needed for a conference including appropriate lighting, mike, slide projector and screen. The hall also contains the facility to prepare and serve food.

The deck below the conference hall consists of five air-conditioned bedrooms including a sit-out and a kitchen. The houseboat contains television settings in order to provide entertainment to the guests. 

The conference hall in the houseboat is named "Kailasam". Interestingly, the rooms in this highly spacious houseboat have been named Sindhu, Ganga, Narmada, Kavery and Yamuna, the names of the five great Indian Rivers.
